Fazenda Boa Esperança — good hope — is a steady, sun-drenched Mogiana farm whose patio-dried naturals we have bought for years. Their beans are dense and sugar-rich, which is what lets this roast go properly dark and come out tasting of chocolate rather than smoke.

Brewing tips

About this coffee
A dark roast in a capsule usually means bitterness with better marketing; this one is the exception we set out to make. We take dense natural-process Mogiana coffee from Fazenda Boa Esperança dark enough for intense chocolate and roasted nut, but stop before char sets in — the shot pours with a heavy crema, full body and remarkably little bitterness. Ten capsules per box, ground and sealed within days of roasting, ready for any compatible machine.
