Traceability & Freshness
Don Emilio of Finca Monteverde planted his first Gesha seedlings a decade ago against every neighbour's advice - the variety is famously fragile at such altitude. The mountain proved him right: the cool Narino nights slowed each cherry to perfect ripeness, and his tiny natural-process harvest is among the most elegant coffees we have ever roasted.

About this coffee
Gesha trees demand patience: they yield little, grow slowly, and punish shortcuts - which is why this lot took our partner farm nearly ten years from seedling to first proper harvest. Grown above 2,000 metres at Finca Monteverde and dried whole-cherry with obsessive care, it delivers the varietal's legendary signature: jasmine and bergamot on the nose, a weightless, tea-like body, delicate stone fruit and a finish of profound, lingering elegance. This is the special-occasion cup in our range.

Brewing Suggestions
Give it ceremony: a paper-filter pourover at 1:17, water at 93 C, and an unhurried bloom. Drink it black from a thin-walled cup and follow it as it cools - the florals open in stages, and the final lukewarm sip is often the most beautiful.
