Konga Ridge Washing Station sits high in the Yirgacheffe hills, collecting ripe cherry each morning from a few hundred neighbouring smallholder families. Every lot is hand-sorted, fermented with care and dried slowly on raised beds — unhurried work that survives even our darkest roasting with its sweetness intact.

Velvet Roast takes a washed Yirgacheffe a shade past medium, coaxing out rich dark chocolate and sweet prune before finishing with a flick of zesty orange marmalade. Full and rounded without a trace of harshness, it earns its name from first sip to last — indulgent black, luxurious with milk. Available in 250 g to 1 kg, whole bean or ground to your brewing method, roasted to order in Dhaka.

Brewing tips

From the farm

Konga Ridge Washing Station gathers cherry from a few hundred smallholder plots scattered across the Yirgacheffe hills of Ethiopia. Their slow, careful washed processing is what gives this coffee its clarity — deep sweetness with none of the rough edges a darker roast can invite.

Brewing Suggestions

Outstanding through an espresso machine or moka pot, where the chocolate turns dense and syrupy. For black coffee, a French press at 1:15 for four minutes lets the prune sweetness stretch out. With milk, it makes the sort of latte that ends conversations.
