Traceability & Freshness
This lot comes from the Konga Valley Cooperative in Yirgacheffe, where hundreds of smallholder families grow coffee in garden plots shaded by enset and old acacia. One grower's small planting of an unfamiliar varietal caught the station manager's eye — and then everyone's palate. The cooperative dried the cherries slowly on raised beds, turning them by hand until the fruit character locked in.
About this product
A special first release marking a new arabica varietal in our line-up — vivid, juicy and one of a kind. This natural-process micro lot from Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia tastes exactly as it sounds: ripe cherry sweetness up front, a juicy rounded body, and a bright, playful finish that lingers. Medium roasted, offered in a limited 100 g pack while it lasts.

About this coffee
Every so often a lot arrives at the cupping table and rearranges the day's plans. Wild Cherry did precisely that: a new arabica varietal for us, naturally processed, tasting extravagantly of ripe red cherries with a juicy body and a bright, almost playful acidity. We bought the little that was available and roasted it to a careful medium that keeps all that fruit intact. When these 100 g packs are gone, they are gone.
Key Features
- Limited micro lot marking a new varietal — first release
- Ripe cherry sweetness, juicy body, bright playful finish
- Natural process; sun-dried whole cherry
- Grown at 1,950–2,200 m in Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia
- 100 g pack, roasted to order in Dhaka
Brewing Suggestions
Treat it gently and brew it black. A pourover at 1:16 with a fine-medium grind lets the cherry note ring clearest; an Aeropress with a two-minute steep gives a juicier, rounder cup. With only 100 g to play with, we would skip the espresso experiments and savour every filter brew.
